Each month I select 20 songs (10 songs twice a month) that I am either hooked on or am curious about. Most of the music I select are rock, hip-hop, R&B and pop songs.
My song selection comes from 20-30 CDs I get from various sources each month, as well as recommendations from iTunes and Amazon. I also check out the charts in US, UK and Japan.
The Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack was released a couple of months ago, and the radio stations and MTVs have been playing Snow Patrol’s, “Signal Fire” a lot. Personally I wasn’t such a huge fan of that song or the movie, so I dismissed the soundtrack all together. But I got a free copy from work, and I actually really like the soundtrack. I had a hard time selecting just one track from the album as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jet, Rogue Wave, The Walkmen all do a superb job (not sure what Chubby Checker’s “The Twist” is in there with all the alternative rock bands, but I guess I need to watch the movie to find out).
