Each month I select 20 songs (10 songs twice a month) that I am either hooked on or am curious about. Most of the music I select are rock, hip-hop, R&B and pop songs.

My song selection comes from 20-30 CDs I get from various sources each month, as well as recommendations from iTunes and Amazon. I also check out the charts in US, UK and Japan.

Katy Perry - California Gurls /ft. Snoop Dogg

Katy Perry’s new album, Teenage Dream won’t be released until end of August this year, but her first single from the album is already a #1 single in the US. Perry has mentioned that she wrote this song as a response to Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” which promotes New York city. I personally prefer West Coast better, but I have to admit that this song isn’t as good as “Empire State of Mind.” Maybe I need to listen to it a few more times.
