About This Site

Each month I select 20 songs (10 songs twice a month) that I am either hooked on or am curious about. Most of the music I select are rock, hip-hop, R&B and pop songs.

My song selection comes from 20-30 CDs I get from various sources each month, as well as recommendations from iTunes and Amazon. I also check out the charts in US, UK and Japan.

Alice In Chains - Check My Brain

Album: Black Gives Way To Blue

When I first heard this song on the radio, I knew right away that it was Alice In Chains. But Layne Staley has been dead for 7 years. Jerry Cantrell and the group recruited William DuVall, a black singer from Atlanta who used to be in Madfly. DuVall’s vocal chemistry with Staley’s guitar playing is pitch perfect. Hopefully this new lineup will prove to be a success (hopefully better than Blind Melon’s short lived stint with the new vocalist).
