Each month I select 20 songs (10 songs twice a month) that I am either hooked on or am curious about. Most of the music I select are rock, hip-hop, R&B and pop songs.
My song selection comes from 20-30 CDs I get from various sources each month, as well as recommendations from iTunes and Amazon. I also check out the charts in US, UK and Japan.
Drake started out as a teen actor on Canadian TV drama, “Degrassi: The Next Generation” but now he’s known as the hottest rapper to debut in 2009. There was apparently a biggest bidding war ever to sign him to a label before he ended up at his mentor, Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. And next thing I know, even before his album release, this single is #2 song in the US. It’s a decent song, and Drake is a competent rapper, but I still haven’t figured out why Drake is getting so much attention.
