Each month I select 20 songs (10 songs twice a month) that I am either hooked on or am curious about. Most of the music I select are rock, hip-hop, R&B and pop songs.
My song selection comes from 20-30 CDs I get from various sources each month, as well as recommendations from iTunes and Amazon. I also check out the charts in US, UK and Japan.
UK rock band, Arctic Monkeys are releasing their third album this month, titled, Humbug. There was a rumor that they were going to turn this album into a metal album, but if anything, they have gone darker on their new set. The first single, “Crying Lightning” sounds like a mixture of Arctic Monkeys and the lead singer Alex Turner’s side project,
The Last Shadow Puppets, which had darker sound. I do like the track, and am excited to hear more singles from them. I’ve read that they will be focusing more on the US market this time around.
